08 January 2016 BREC – the place where experts get together Importance of Data Flow in Energy Sector The Brussels Energy Club round tables are the place where high-quality information about the energy trends is shared BREC SEEKS TO GATHER PROFESSIONALS TO EXCHANGE IDEAS REGARDING ENERGY DEVELOPMENT IN AN ENVIRONMENTALY-SENSITIVE MANNER, USING GLOBAL EXPERIENCES The Brussels Energy Club (BREC) brings together major global and regional oil companies, which have their representative offices in the European Union, as well as the representatives of the nongovernmental sector and the diplomatic corps. The not-for-profit organization was established by energy experts in early 2012 in Belgium with a view to integrating ideas, thoughts and capital in the energy sector, but also as a new way to exchange the information relevant for decision making regarding investments. The association is committed to promoting better understanding of international energy matters and expansion of the professional network in the transiting countries in Eurasia, North Africa and the Middle East. Bearing this in mind, one of the important segments of the work of this association is development of contacts with the institutions of the European Union engaged in the regulation of energy markets in Europe. BREC accomplishes its mission primarily by hosting debates and round tables on topical energy issues. That is why they seek to gather high level energy professionals who exchange ideas on energy development in an environmentally-sensitive manner, using global experiences. The members of the association, thus, receive high-quality information about the latest trends in the energy sector at the global level and deepen their understanding of energy markets. One of the members of the club is NIS, the first Serbian company to open its permanent representative office in Brussels as early as in 2011. Aware of the importance of representing the company’s interests and of associating with strategic partners in the EU, aligning the business operation of the company with the legal framework of the EU, and also providing full support to Serbia’s EU accession negotiations, NIS has taken an active part in the work of this association. In relation to these activities, the executive director of BREC, PhD Marat Terterov attended, as a NIS invitee, the panel discussion on the Energy Union organized at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in September this year Source:
