Zhaslan Kasenov

Zhaslan Kasenov is the Director of the Department of Atomic Energy and Industry at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He has a strong educational background, having graduated from the Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communications named after M. Tynyshpaev in 2009 and again in 2011.

Kasenov's professional journey began in April 2010 when he served as the Deputy Director of Taraz Energo-Expert LLP in Almaty city. He then worked as an expert at Kazakhenergoexpertiza JSC in Almaty city. In July 2011, he became the Manager of the Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Department at Kazakhenergoexpertiza JSC in Astana.

Continuing his career progression, Kasenov assumed the role of Deputy Director of the Department of the State Energy Register of KazakhEnergoExpertiza JSC in Astana. Following that, he worked as the Deputy Director of the Department of Energy Saving and the State Energy Register and later as the Director of the same department.

In June 2015, Kasenov briefly served as the Acting Head of the Department for Regulatory and Technical Support of the Committee for Nuclear and Energy Supervision and Control at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From August 2015 to April 2017, he held the position of Head of the same department.

Continuing his contributions to the energy sector, Kasenov became the Deputy Head of the Territorial Department for the city of Astana of the Committee for Nuclear and Energy Supervision and Control at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan from April 2017 to September 2019. Following that, he served as the Head of the Territorial Department for the Akmola Region of the same committee from September 2019 to February 2021.

Since February 2021, Kasenov has been the Director of the Department of Atomic Energy and Industry at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, based in Nur-Sultan.
