Dr. Marat Terterov

Marat Terterov is a co-founder of the Club and its CEO until 2019. Marat has moderated almost all BREC meetings since its inception and became the Club’s interface. He has worked as a consultant and adviser under a number of government-related and inter-state organizations, including the Department of Trade and Industry in London, USAID in Cairo, the Foreign Ministry of Egypt, and a range of projects in the former Soviet Union states. Marat holds a D.Phil. (PhD) and has over 20 years professional experience in Russia, the former-Soviet Union and the Middle East in the domain of energy, investment, business development, security, geopolitics and government relations. He speaks English, Russian and is conversant in Egyptian Arabic. Currently, he works as a head of unit at the Energy Charter Secretariat, in charge of expansion activities.
